The article “Prioritized mass spectrometry increases the depth, sensitivity and data completeness of single-cell proteomics” published in Nature Methods, discusses a new method to improve the quality of single-cell proteomics data. By selecting high-priority peptides for analysis, the researchers were able to significantly increase the depth and sensitivity of their single-cell proteomics data. The approach using the prioritised Single-Cell ProtEomics (pSCoPE) technique also improved data completeness, allowing for more accurate and comprehensive quantification of protein expression across individual cells. The study demonstrates the potential of prioritised mass spectrometry to advance the field of single-cell proteomics and improve our understanding of cell biology and disease.
